Charitable Care Program
As the community’s only non-profit provider, Hospice of Yuma has cared for thousands of patients and families since 1981 by providing compassionate hospice and palliative care, grief counseling, and support to terminally ill patients of all ages, their families, and the community. Patients are eligible for our care any time after a physician diagnoses them with a terminal illness and the patient has a prognosis of six months or less. Oftentimes, our patients do not have insurance to cover hospice services. This is where the Charitable Care Program comes into play. Regardless of ability to pay, Hospice of Yuma accepts and cares for patients who require our services to carry out their end-of-life phase in comfort, with dignity, and surrounded by a caring, compassionate team of professionals.
The Charitable Care Program is funded through our annual fundraising events each year including the P.K. Hodges SW Ag Golf Tournament and the event in October, usually known as the Monster Mash. Our smaller events, such as the Mother’s & Father’s Day mailings, and our Light-a-Light Ornament fundraiser also contribute to the Charitable Care Program.
Our main goal is to make sure that everybody who needs hospice care, receives it, regardless of their ability to pay. Our patients and their families deserve to live comfortably and with dignity, especially in what can often be a difficult time for the family.
